The Women's World Team Championship takes place in Chengdu, China on April 18-28. The team Russia is represented by Valentina Gunina (2532), Alexandra Kosteniuk (2529), Alexandra Goryachkina (2473), Olga Girya (2464), and Natalia Pogonina (2456). Other favorites of the event are the World and European champions from Ukraine (Anna Muzychuk, Mariya Muzychuk, Anna Ushenina, Natalia Zhukova, Inna Gaponenko), the three-time World champions from China (Ju Wenjun, Tan Zhongyi, Shen Yang, Lei Tingjie, Ding Yixin), and former Olympiad champions from Georgia (Bela Khotenashvili, Lela Javakhishvili, Nino Batsiashvili, Salome Melia, Nino Khurtsidze). Strong teams from Poland, India, Armenia, USA, Kazakhstan, and Egypt also participate in the championship.
The championship is played from April 19 to April 28, April 24 is a rest day. All rounds except the final one start at 10 am Moscow time, the final rounds starts at 6:30 am Moscow time.
