The FIDE Women's Candidates Tournament in Kazan is held in Kazan from May 29th to June 19th.

The participants are Mariya Muzychuk (Ukraine, 2563), Kateryna Lagno (Russia, 2554), Alexandra Kosteniuk (Russia, 2546), Anna Muzychuk (Ukraine, 2539), Aleksandra Goryachkina (Russia, 2522), Tan Zhongyi (China, 2513), Nana Dzagnidze (Georgia, 2510), and Valentina Gunina (Russia, 2506).

The event is a double round round-robin – the players will play each other twice, once with White, and once with Black pieces. The prize fund is 200.000 euros. 

Playing days: May 31 – June 2, 4-6, 8-10, 12-14, and 16-17. Tie-breaks (if needed) and the Closing Ceremony will take place on June 18. All rounds begin at 3 pm local time.

Tie-breaks: If the top two or more players score the same number of points, the tie is to be decided by the following criteria, in order of priority:

a. The results of the games between the players involved in the tie.
b. The total number of wins in the tournament of every player involved in the tie.
c. Sonneborn - Berger System.
 
If there is no clear winner with the above 3 criteria, there will be a special competition between the players who still remain tied after using the 3rd criteria.

The time control for each game is: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.

The venue is the Nogai Hotel (16B, Profsojuznaja St., Kazan).
