First Games of Aeroflot Open 2019 Played in Moscow
Not all rating favourites started with victories.

The first round of the 17th International Chess Festival "Aeroflot Open 2019" was played in Cosmos Hotel on February 20. As it is known, the round was postponed till that date due to force majeur.
Not all rating favourites managed to win at the start of the "A" tournament. For example, Parham Maghsoodloo lost to Kaido Kulaots. The games Moroni - Wei Yi, Fier - Wang Hao, Dubov - Abdusattorov, Karthikeyan - Kovalev, Nabaty - Santos Ruiz, Tsydypov - Korobov, and some others were drawn.
In the "B" group, the first two tables (Belenkaya - Vaganian and Bocharov - Wang Shixu) also saw peaceful results.
It is to be reminded that two rounds a day will be played on February 23 in the "A" tournament and on February 24 in "B".
