World Youth Championship Starts in India

Russia is represented by 16 players.


The World Youth Championship among boys and girls under 14, 16, and 18 years old is taking place in Mumbai on October 1-13. 464 chess players from 64 countries are taking part in the event.

Russia is represented by 16 players: Volodar Murzin, Andrey Tsvetkov (both Open U14), Ekaterina Nasyrova, Mariya Alekseenko, Emilia Zavivaeva, Evelina Zavivaeva (all Girls U14), Rudik Makarian, Stefan Pogosyan (both Open U16), Leya Garifullina, Kamaliya Bulatova, Viktoriya Loskutova, Dayana Nasybullina (all Girls U16), Oleg Bykov (Open U18), Polina Shuvalova, Anna Afonasieva, and Alexandra Obolentseva (all Girls U18). 

The event is an 11-round Swiss tournament. Playing schedule: October 2-7 and 9-12.
