Tata Steel Chess festival takes place in Wijk-aan-Zee, Amsterdam (round 5) and Utrecht (round 10) from January 15 to January 31. There are two round robin tournaments with 14 players in each - Tata Steel Masters and Tata Steel Challengers.

Time control
: 100 minutes per 40 moves, then 50 minutes for 20 moves, then 15 minutes plus 30 second per move for the rest of the game.

Playing days
: January 16-19, 21-24, 26, 27, 29-31. Rest days: January 20, 25, 28. 

All game start
 at 3.30 pm (Moscow time), except rounds 5 and 10, which start at 4 pm (Moscow), and the last one, which starts at 2 pm (Moscow).
