296 Schools In Moscow Region Start Teaching Chess Next Academic Year
The decision has been made on May 26.
On May 26, Government of Moscow Region, located in Krasnogorsk, took a final decision to start teaching chess as a part of school curriculum in 296 schools of Moscow Region. This happened during the meeting between leaders of Moscow Region Chess Federation S. Nesterov and S. Vengersh with the First Deputy Governor Ildar Gabdrakhmanov and First Deputy Minister of Education Natalia Pantyukhina.
Chess will be taught in first form. The classes begin September 1 this year.
It should be noted that 250 schools of Moscow Region already teach chess.
