Alexander Grischuk Advances to Semifinal of FIDE Grand Prix Leg in Hamburg

Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Jan-Krzysztof Duda also won their matches.


Second games of the quarterfinals of the FIDE Grand Prix leg organized by World Chess were played in Hamburg on November 9.  

Alexander Grischuk defeated David Navara as Black and won the match 1.5-0.5. His opponent in the semifinal will be Maxime Vachier-Lagrave who eliminated Veselin Topalov with the same score.   

Jan-Krzysztof Duda beat Yu Yangyi 1.5-0.5. His rival will be determined in the Russian derby Svidler - Dubov that ended in a draw 1-1. The winner will be determined on tie-break on November 10.
