Alexander Grischuk and Daniil Dubov Advance to Quarterfinals of FIDE Grand Prix Leg

Round 1 finished in Hamburg.


Round 1 tiebreak of the FIDE Grand Prix leg organized by World Chess was played in Hamburg on November 7.  

Three matches out of four finished in rapid chess. Alexander Grischuk and Radoslaw Wojtaszek drew the first game, while the Russian grandmaster won the second one. Nikita Vitiugov lost both rapid games to David Navara. Dmitry Jakovenko lost the first encounter to Yu Yangyi and then didn't manage to win back. 

Daniil Dubov and Teimour Radjabov played the longest match of the first round. Both rapid and "10+10" games were drawn. The Russian won the first blitz game and miraculously saved the second one thus advancing to Round 2. 



Round 2 pairings:

Topalov - Vachier-Lagrave, Grischuk - Navara, Dubov - Svidler, Yu Yangyi - Duda.
