Altai Territory Senior Championships Ended in Barnaul

The champions were determined in three forms of chess.

Men's and women's championships of the Altai Territory among seniors gathered more than 120 players. Yury Alexeevich Razgovorov, candidate master from Barnaul, who celebrated his 70th birthday during the tournament, showed an excellent performance, winning two championships – in classical chess and in rapid chess, and finishing on the second place in blitz, surpassed by Nikolay Panfilov, another player from Barnaul.

Yury Razgovorov dedicated his entire life to chess. For many years he taught children chess and was the first trainer of famous Russian coach grandmaster Yury Dokhoian. Yury Alexeevich has abandoned coaching work and, as he himself puts it, only enjoys playing in tournaments.

Tatiana Chernenko from Petropavlovsk region won the women's classical chess championships, and Olga Nesterova from Novoaltaisk prevailed in the rapid event.

On February 6, Barnaul Territory Chess Club will host the 2nd official blitz championships of Siberia.
