Andrey Filatov: All FIDE Events in Russia to be Held on Scheduled Time

WADA recommendations won't influence them.

President of the Chess Federation of Russia Andrey Filatov commented on a possible stripping Russia of hosting FIDE events after the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) committee's recent recommendations.

— The calendar of the international chess events in Russia remains to be highly packed.  All FIDE competitions in our country will be held on scheduled time; we don't expect any changes connected with the WADA committee's recommendations.

In the end of December this year, we welcome all chess amateurs to come to the King Salman World Rapid and Blitz Championships in Moscow. It is one of the most important FIDE events featuring all world strongest chess players.

In January 2020, the second part of the World Women's Championship Match between Ju Wenjun (China) and Aleksandra Goryachkina (Russia) will take place in Vladivostok.

In March-April 2020, Yekaterinburg will host the FIDE Candidates Tournament, the winner of which will challenge Magnus Carlsen in the match for the world crown.

Finally, Khanty-Mansiysk and Moscow will be the host cities for the World Chess Olympiad, the first World Chess Paralympics, and FIDE Congress in July-August 2020.

We will be happy to welcome all the participants, arbiters, journalists, guests, and all chess amateurs in our country.
