Andrey Filatov Congratulates Chess Players on Happy New Year!
CFR President wishes new achievements and victories to everybody.
Dear friends!
The year of 2019 pleased the chess players of the whole world with exciting competitions and numerous games, which became real pearls.
The expiring year turned out to be quite successful for the Russian players. Our national teams won three gold and one silver medals in the team events. Three Russian players qualified for the FIDE Candidates Tournament, while Aleksandra Goryachkina will challenge the world reigning champion Ju Wenjun in the crown match in January.
On behalf of the Russian Chess Federation, I would like to wish a happy New Year to everyone and thank all the people who contribute to promoting our sport: professionals and amateurs, our partners, sponsors, and journalists.
Happy New Year, dear friends! Let the year of 2020 make your dreams come true and bring you new achievements, successes, and bright victories!
