Andrey Filatov is RCF Presidential Candidate

Chess professionals and amateurs of 21 Russian regions nominate him.

Chess players, coaches, organizers and arbiters, who represent 21 regions of the Russian Federation, nominate Andrey Filatov as candidate for the position of the President of the all-Russian non-governmental organization "Russian Chess Federation".  

Respective representations and protocols of election meetings (conferences), which had taken place in Saint Petersburg, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Altai Republic, the Republic of Khakassia, Altai Krai, Krasnodar Krai, Zabaykalsky Krai, Samara, Yaroslavl, Kaluga, Kemerovo, Tula, Vologda, Pskov, Sverdlovsk, Tomsk, Tambov, Novosibirsk, Omsk, and Irkutsk regions, were presented to the RCF Secretariat in accordance with established procedure.

Election meetings (conferences) were held in 32 Russian regions by the present date. The following candidates for the RCF presidency had been nominated earlier (alphabetically):

1) Kirsan Ilyumzhinov - the candidature was supported at the gathering of the chess players of the Republic of Kalmykia and also at presidium meetings of the chess Federations of the Republic of Ingushetia (the federation is not listed on the Register of the all-Russian and accredited regional sports federations of the Russian Ministry of Sport), Astrakhan Oblast, and Vladimir Oblast (the federation is not listed on the Register of the all-Russian and accredited regional sports federations of the Russian Ministry of Sport).   

2) Zaurbek Malsagov – the candidature was supported at a general meeting of the non-governmental organization "Chess and Checkers Federation of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic";

3) Sergey Nesterov* – the candidature was supported at the presidium meeting of the Chess Federation of the Republic of Crimea (the federation is not accredited) and at an absentee presidium meeting of the Chess Federation of Moscow Oblast;

4) Andrey Selivanov – the candidature was supported at a general meeting of the Chess Federation of the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania (the federation is not listed on the Register of the all-Russian and accredited regional sports federations of the Russian Ministry of Sport);

5) Ivan Starikov – the candidature was supported at a general meeting of the Chess Federation of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic (the federation is not listed on the Register of the all-Russian and accredited regional sports federations of the Russian Ministry of Sport) and an extraordinary general meeting of the members of non-governmental organization "Chess Federation of Bryansk Oblast";

6) Eduard Suboch – the candidature was supported at a general meeting of the regional sports non-governmental organization "Chess Federation of Rostov Oblast".

* The Chechen regional non-governmental organization "Chess Federation of the Chechen Republic" annulled its previous decision to nominate Sergey Nesterov as candidate for the position of the RCF President.

According to the Article 8.2.1.14 of the Statute of the Russian Chess Federation, the lists of the candidates for the position of the RCF President will be formed at an absentee meeting of the RCF Supervisory Board, which will be held from January 26, 00.00 (Moscow time) till January 29, 24.00 (Moscow time).

The RCF Presidential election will take place in Moscow during the XIII Congress of the Russian Chess Federation, on February 3.
