Anish Giri Catches Up With Magnus Carlsen at Tata Steel Masters

Not without his rival Samuel Shankland's help.

The 11th round of the Tata Steel Tournament was played in Wijk aan Zee. In the main event, Samuel Shankland's resignation in a drawn position allowed Anish Giri to catch up with Magnus Carlsen, who drew his game with Teimous Radjabov. Vladimir Kramnik scored his first victory in the tournament having outplayed Jorden Van Foreest. Ian Nepomniachtchi defeated Vladimir Fedoseev, while Santosh Vidit bested Shakhriyar Mamedyarov. The games Rapport - Ding Liren and Anand - Duda were drawn.
