Andrey Filatov Congratulates Boris Postovsky on His Anniversary

The outstanding coach, organizer and arbiter has turned 80.

On May 31, Boris Postovsky, a famous coach and organizer, FIDE Senior Trainer, Master of Sports of USSR, International Arbiter, celebrates his 80th Anniversary. Andrey Filatov, President of Russian Chess Federation and Vice-President of FIDE, sent him a congratulatory letter.

Dear Boris Naumovich,


Please accept the most sincere congratulations on your anniversary! 

It is difficult to overestimate your contribution to chess. Under your guidance, the Russian men's national team won four World Chess Olympiads (in 1994, 1996, 1998, and 2000) and the World Team Chess Championship in 1997. During your chess career, you were a second and assistant to a former World Chess Champion Vasily Smyslov, grandmasters Alexander Chernin, Boris Gelfand, Sergei Tiviakov and many other chess players. You judged Susan Polgar vs Nana Ioseliani match (1993), the Russian Team Championship (2011), Alekhine Memorial (2013), Petrosian Memorial (2014), the FIDE Grand Prix leg in Khanty-Mansiysk (2014) and other important tournaments.
