Boris Postovsky’s Anniversary Celebration Took Place in Central House of Chess Player

Many guests arrived to congratulate the hero of the day. 

On May 31, Boris Postovsky, a famous coach and organizer, FIDE Senior Trainer, Master of Sports of USSR, International Arbiter, celebrates his 80th Anniversary. Birthday celebrations in his honor took place in the Central House of Chess Player in Moscow on the same day. Boris Postovsky’s friends, colleagues, many famous figures of chess, culture, and politics arrived to congratulate him. 

The program was hosted by the historians Vladimir Linder and Sergey Voronkov. President of the Russian Chess Federation and FIDE Vice-President Andrey Filatov, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the oldest grandmaster of the world Yuri Averbakh, famous coaches, chess players, organizers, and journalists  Lyudmila Belavenets, Evgeny Eletsky, Sergey Smagin, Sergei and Marina Makarychevs, Sergey Dolmatov, 64-Chess Review publisher Igor Burshtein, a famous satirist Lion Izmailov, RCF Executive Director Mark Glukhovsky and many others said a lot of kind words about Boris Postovsky and congratulated him. 

Former World Chess Champions Boris Spassky and Garry Kasparov, grandmasters Boris Gulko and Igor Zaitsev, Chess Federations of Serbia and Saint Petersburg, and Chess Informant sent their congratulatory letters.
