CFR Supervisory Board Approves Golden Mark

Outstanding chess personalities will be awarded with it.


The absentee meeting of the CFR Supervisory Board was held on April 19. The agenda included the confirmation of the regulations project of the Golden Mark of the Chess Federation of Russia. All the Board members voted "for".  

The Supervisory Board decided to present the CFR Golden Mark to the world's oldest grandmaster Yuri Averbakh, the Honoured coach of the USSR, FIDE Senior Trainer Liudmila Belavenets, multiple times World Chess Champion, State Duma member, CFR Vice-President Anatoly Karpov, well-known coach Boris Postovsky, under whose guidance the Russian team won four World Chess Olympiads and the World Team Championship in 1997, and the 10th World Chess Champion Boris Spassky

CFR President Andrey Filatov: "It is a great honour for us to work and communicate with such outstanding people as Yuri Averbakh, Liudmila Belavenets, Anatoly Karpov, Boris Postovsky, and Boris Spassky for many years. We are happy to award them with the Golden Mark of the Chess Federation of Russia for their enormous contribution to the development of chess and their unique achievements. I congratulate them from the bottom of my heart and wish them robust health and new successes!"
