RCF Charity Chess to Orphanages Came to Kalmykia

Children received chess books and equipment.

Russian Chess Federation's charity program Chess to Orphanages and Boarding Schools started to operate in the Republic of Kalmykia. The main goal of the project is to stimulate intellectual development and decision-making ability of children living in orphanages.

The presentation was attended by heads of boarding schools of Elista and seven other regions of the republic. Valery Erdnievich Bovaev, president of Kalmyk chess federation and member of the RCF Board, held a speech in which he clarified the ways of implementing this program in the republic. He presented each boarding school chess with chess sets, chess clocks, demonstration boards, and books. Kalmyk chess federation assigned chess trainers to each boarding school. 

On January 22, another Kalmyk institution decided to join the program – Rehabilitation center for handicapped children. International arbiter and trainer Batyr Erdzhenovich Boromangnaev played a major role in chess development in this institution. Rehabilitation center also received all the chess equipment from Mr. Bovaev.
