Governor Konstantin Ilkovsky took part in the opening ceremony.

Konstantin Ilkovsky, governor of the region, visited the opening ceremony of the final stage of 2nd School Olympiad of Zabaykalsky Krai, which takes place in a philharmonic hall in Chita.

“This year, for the first time in the history of our region, Chita hosted the Russian Chess Superfinal. Two players became Russian champions for the first time in their life. Wish you all spectacular wins and unforgettable experience from chess battles”, said the governor.

Roman Pavlov, the winner of the first School Olympiad, gave start to the tournament together with the governor.

The final stage of the Olympiad is played on November 3-4, and is attended by 370 players.
