Eight Rounds of World Senior Championship Played in Bucharest

Tatiana Bogumil leads the race in her age group.

 
The 8th round games of the World Senior Championship were played in Bucharest on November 20. 

In the "50+" open tournament, the leader is Vadim Shishkin (Ukraine) who have scored 7 points. Vladislav Nevednichy (Romania) has got 6.5 points. The Russian Semen Dvoirys is 2 points behind the leader.  

Carlos Garcia Palermo (Italy) has taken the lead in the "65+" age group with 7 points scored. Evgeny Sveshnikov, Yuri Balashov (both from Russia), Jose Luis Fernandez Garcia (Spain), and Herman van Riemsdijk (Brazil) are trailing by half a point. 

Tatiana Bogumil (Russia) is heading the "50+" women's event with 6.5 points. Elvira Berend (Luxemburg) is half a point behind. The Russians Galina Strutinskaia and Nina Sirotkina have scored 5.5 points each. 

Brigitte Burchardt (Germany), who has got 6 points, is the leader in the "65+" women's group. Elena Fatalibekova (Russia) and Nona Gaprindashvili (Georgia) are trailing by half a point. 

There are three more rounds to be played.
