Elina Danielian Becomes New European Women's Champion

The European Individual Women's Chess Championship has finished in Iasi, Romania. Having scored 9 points out of 11, Elina Danielian (Armenia) became the winner. Iulija Osmak (Ukraine) is on second place with 8.5 points. Oliwia Kiolbasa (Poland) got 8 points and edged out Nataliya Buksa (Ukraine). The best Russian player, Leya Garifullina, is tenth with 7.5 points. 

Final standings

The tournament was a qualification event for the FIDE Women’s World Cup 2022 or 2023. According to the FIDE regulations and the ECU Board decision, at least 10 players will qualify. The number of qualification spots may be increased with a decision prior to the start of the Championship.
