European Team Championship, Round 2 Results
Open section: Russia-Greece 3-1, women's section: Russia-Armenia 3-1.
The second round of the European Team Championship was played in Reykjavik on November 14. The round started with a minute of silence in memory of the Paris terror victims.
In the open section, Russia defeated Greece 3-1 – wins by Svidler and Jakovenko, draws by Tomashevsky and Nepomniachtchi.
In other matches, France defeated Armenia 2.5-1.5, Spain defeated Germany 2.5-1.5, Ukraine defeated Montenegro 3-1, Azerbaijan defeated Denmark 3.5-0.5, England drew with Georgia, and Netherlands drew with Croatia.
After two rounds the leaders with two match victories are Azerbaijan (6.5 board points), Russia (6), Ukraine (6), Spain (6), and France (5.5).
In the third round Russia faces Spain.
Russian women's team defeated Greece 3-1 – wins by Kosteniuk, Lagno, Gunina, loss by Bodnaruk.
Four teams are in the lead with two match victories – Italy (7 board points), Russia (6), Georgia (6), and Ukraine (6).
In the 3rd round Russia plays with Italy.
All games start at 6 pm msk.
