European Team Championship, Round 6 Results
Open: Russia-Georgia 2.5-1.5, Women: Russia-Ukraine 2-2.
The 6th round of the European team championship was played on Thursday, November 19 in Reykjavik.
Russian men's team defeated Georgia 2.5-1.5: Jobava-Grischuk draw, Tomashevsky-Mchedlishvili 1-0, Jakovenko-Paichadze 1-0, Pantsulaia-Nepomniachtchi 1-0.
In other matches, France defeated Ukraine 2.5-1.5, Azerbaijan outplayed Netherlands with the same score, and Armenia won against Germany.
Russia retains the lead with 11 match points, France is one point behind and faces our team in the next round.
Russian women's team drew with Ukraine. Alexandra Kosteniuk and Valentina Gunina both lost their games, but it was compensated by victories of Ekaterina Lagno and Aleksandra Goryachkina.
Georgia defeated France 2.5-1.5, Serbia drew with Romania 2-2.
In the next round Russia will face Hungary.
