Evgeny Alekseev Wins Rapid Grand Prix Stage in Saint Petersburg
Pavel Ponkratov is second.
Evgeny Alekseev won a stage of the RAPID Grand Prix (a part of the open chess festival St Petersburg Summer-2017) with 9 points out of 11. Pavel Ponkratov, Aleksandr Shimanov, Daniil Dubov, Pavel Tregubov, Igor Lysyj, Sergei Rublevsky, Vladislav Artemiev (all from Russia), and Gata Kamsky (USA) are half a point behind the winner. Due the their superior tie-break, Ponkratov and Shimanov became second and third respectively. Best results in categories:

Women - Alexandra Kosteniuk
Girls - Elizaveta Solozhenkina
Local players - Kirill Alekseenko.
