Evgeny Romanov Leads Russian Championships Higher League
Polina Shuvalova is heading the women's tournament.
Round 4 games of the Russian Championships Higher League are played in Krasnaya Polyana. Evgeny Romanov outplayed Alexander Motylev and became the sole leader of the open section. Ten participants are half a point behind. The following games will be played in round 5: Matlakov-Romanov, Najer-Dreev, Dubov-Levin, Zvjaginsev-Shimanov, Rozum-Volkov, Sjugirov-Ponkratov. Sanan Sjugirov has got 2.5 points.
The sole leader has also emerged in the women's tournament: Polina Shuvalova defeated Elena Tomilova. A young Moscow chess player won 4 games out of 4 and will face Marina Nechaeva (3.5 points) in round 5. Other leaders' games of round 5 are Assaubayeva-Girya, Galliamova-Gritsayeva, Ubiennykh-Kashlinskaya, Tomilova-Bivol.
