24 Players Will Participate In FIDE Grand Prix 2016-2017
Each tournament will be a 9-round Swiss.
The FIDE Grand Prix 2016-2017 will consist of four tournaments with 24 players taking part in the series. There are five ways to qualify:
1. World Championship participants – 2 players
2. World Cup semifinalists – 4 players
3. Highest rated from June 2015 to May 2016 – 8 players
4. ACP Tour – 1 player
5. Organizers' nominees – 9 players.
Each player will participate in three tournaments out of four, and all three results will count towards the final standings.
Each tournament will be a 9-round Swiss with 18 participants.
