The rivals in the final matches on August 23 will be teams Egypt, Armenia, and Romania.

Coach of the Russian women's team, GM Vladimir Potkin: "Our players were very coordinated and fought till the end on the second match day. Our players won good matches against Algeria and Morocco and then disposed themselves to a very tough match against an experienced English team. I would like to note that our juniors, who had been trained in the "Sirius" educational centre, were acting brilliantly today. For example, Polina Shuvalova was playing precisely according to our morning preparation. We feel optimistic about the decisive rounds tomorrow. Our rivals will be Egypt, the strongest African team, a very interesting one; Armenia, our main rivals, winners of many World Chess Olympiads, lead by Levon Aronian; and a solid Romanian team. But we got into the game, settled all technical moments, and are ready for the decisive day".
