First Round of Russian Championship Higher League Played in Yaroslavl
It doesn't go without sensations.
In the first round of the Russian Championship Higher League, the majority of rating favourites won their games, although it didn't go without several unexpected results. Thus, Aleksandra Goryachkina defeated Evgeny Alekseev, while Timur Fakhrutdinov beat Aleksandr Predke.
The favorites of the women's tournament faced much more problems - Aleksandra Dimitrova bested Polina Shuvalova, Marina Baraeva outplayed Daria Voit, and Daria Charochkina lost to Yuliya Vinokur.
