Heads of Asian Chess Federation Arrive at Central Chess Club in Moscow

They visited the Chess Museum and the World Championship Match fan zone.


Friday, April 28, Hisham Al Taher, General Secretary of the Asian Chess Federation, and Sami Khader, the ACF Chairman of the Technical and Development Commission, visited the Central Chess Club in Moscow named after Mikhail Botvinnik. The guests of honour were met by Alexander Tkachev, CFR Executive Director, and Mikhail Kobalia, Head Coach of the Russian junior chess team.

Dmitry Oleynikov, the CFR Chess Museum’s curator and candidate of historical sciences, introduced guests to the Museum's exposition and history of the ancient mansion on Gogolevsky Boulevard. Hisham Al Taher and Sami Khader signed in the Book of Honorary Guests. Besides, they took great interest in the organisation of children's chess schools accommodated in the Central Chess Club.

CFR President Andrey Filatov invited Hisham Al Taher and Sami Hader to the fan zone of the World Championship Match between Ian Nepomniachtchi and Ding Liren and gifted the guests with traditional Russian souvenirs – Tula samovars and gingerbread cookies.
