Ian Nepomniachtchi and Georg Meier Lead Gideon Japhet Cup

A big chess festival in memory of Gideon Japhet is drawing to a close in Jerusalem. Rounds 7 and 8 were played in the main rapid double round-robin tournament. Boris Gelfand (Israel) lost two games to Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukraine), Georg Meier (Germany) defeated Anna Muzychuk (Ukraine) 2-0, while the Russian derby Svidler vs.Nepomniachtchi finished 1.5-0.5 in favour of the former.

6. A. Muzychuk - 3.
The games Meier - Nepomniachtchi, Svidler - Ivanchuk, and Gelfand - Muzychuk will be played on June 6th.
