Ju Wenjun Becomes Sole Leader of FIDE Women's Grand Prix Leg

The sixth round of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix leg was played in the Skolkovo business centre on September 16.

The women's world champion Ju Wenjun defeated Alina Kashlinskaya to become the sole leader of the tournament as Valentina Gunina lost to Elisabeth Paehtz. Aleksandra Goryachkina beat Dronavalli Harika, Kateryna Lagno bested Antoaneta Stefanova, while Humpy Koneru won against Pia Cramling. Alexandra Kosteniuk and Marie Sebag made a draw.  



Ju Wenjun is leading the race with 4.5 points out of 6. Aleksandra Goryachkina, Kateryna Kagno, and Humpy Koneru are half a point behind.

September 17th is the tournament's free day.

Round 7 pairings: 

Gunina - Ju Wenjun, Lagno - Paehtz, Koneru - Stefanova, Harika - Cramling, Sebag - Goryachkina, Kashlinskaya - Kosteniuk. 

The games start at 3 p.m. The final 11th round will begin at 11 a.m. (Moscow time).

The prize fund is 80,000 euros.

A vast additional program is organized during the tournament. The Skolkovo Cup, a stage of the Russian Rapid Grand Prix, will be held on September 21-22.
