Kirsan Ilyumzhinov Registered as RCF Presidential Candidate

He becomes the sixth contender for the position.

FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov is registered as candidate for the RCF presidency. His candidature was supported at the gathering of the chess players of the Republic of Kalmykia and at presidium meetings of the chess Federations of the Republic of Ingushetia, Astrakhan and Vladimir regions.  

The RCF Presidential election will take place in Moscow during the XIII Congress of the Russian Chess Federation, on February 3. 

Other candidates are Eduard Suboch (from Rostov Oblast). Zaurbek Malsagov (Kabardino-Balkar Republic), Ivan Starikov (Karachay-Cherkess Republic), Sergey Nesterov (Chechen Republic), and Andrey Selivanov (Republic of North Ossetia-Alania).
