Line-up for Russian Championships Superfinal Determined

The event to take place in Satka from August 24 till September 6.


The Superfinals of 71st Russian men's championship and 68th Russian women's championship will take place from 24th August till 6th September 2018 in Satka, Chelyabinsk Oblast. 

The following players are allowed to take part in the tournaments: 

Men:

Dmitry Andreikin, Vladimir Fedoseev, Nikita Vitiugov, Dmitry Jakovenko, Evgeny Tomashevsky, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Ernesto Inarkiev, Mikhail Kobalia, Daniil Dubov, Grigoriy Oparin, Denis Khismatullin, and Alexey Sarana.

Women:

Olga Girya, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Valentina Gunina, Alina Kashlinskaya, Polina Shuvalova, Aleksandra Goryachkina, Natalija Pogonina, Anastasiya Protopopova, Alisa Galliamova, Anastasia Bodnaruk, Elena Tomilova, and Oksana Gritsayeva.

Total prize fund is 9,000,000 roubles. Besides, the winners of men's and women's tournaments will also receive a special prize – a Renault car. 

The tournaments are round-robin events with 11 rounds. The default time is 15 minutes. If a player arrives at his/her place after a chess clock was started, but within first 15 minutes, he/she shall be fined at a rate of 10,000 roubles.  

The match days: August 25-30 and September 1-5. Free day - August 31. The rounds start at 1 p.m. (Moscow time), the final 11th round begins at 11 a.m. (Moscow time).

Tie-break criteria: 1) number of games played with Black, 2) Sonneborn-Berger, 3) number of wins, 4) direct encounter, 5) Koya system.  

In case of a tie for the 1st place by two or more participants, an additional rapid competition is played to determine the winner.
