London Chess Classic Starts with ProBlitzCup

The main event is the final leg of the Grand Chess Tour.

On November 30, the 9th edition of London Chess Classic has started with a ProBlitzCup which brought leading business minds and the world’s leading grandmasters together in a fun knock-out tournament to raise money for the UK charity, Chess in Schools and Communities (CSC). 

The event was won by Rajko Vujatovic & Ian Nepomniachtchi team - 2.5 points out of 3. 2-4 places were shared by Terry Chapman & Garry Kasparov, Lee Green & Hikaru Nakamura, and Ali Mortazavi & Dave Norwood - 2/3.

The main event - the final leg of the Grand Chess Tour 2017 - will start on December 1. 

Round 1 parings:

Nepomniachtchi - Aronian, Carlsen - Caruana, Adams - Karjakin, Nakamura - Anand, So - Vachier-Lagrave.

Time control: 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 60 minutes for the remainder of the game with a 30 second delay per move from move 1.

Schedule: December 1, 3-6, 8-11. Free days: December 2 and 7. 

The festival also includes the British Knockout Championship, FIDE Open, Rapid tournaments, Super Blitz tournament and many other events.
