Monte Carlo Leads Women's Euro Cup

Bronze Horseman and Alkaliod are ahead in the open event.

In the 4th round of the Euro Cup, which takes place in Novi Sad, Bronze Horseman from St. Petersburg crushed VSK Sveti Nikolaj Srpski – 5-1. On the first board, Peter Svidler, playing Black, defeated Shakhriyar Mamedyarov. Alkaloid defeated Zhiguli 3.5-2.5. Siberia drew with Odlar Yurdu. SHSM Legacy Square won against Maria Saal 4.5-1.5, and Ladya Kazan swept through Ezerelio Vaivorykste – 5-0.

After the first four rounds, Bronze Horseman and Alkaloid are in the lead with 8 points. Siberia and Ashdod are a point behind.

The key matches of the 5th round: Alkaloid-Bronze Horseman, Ashdod-Siberia, Ladya Kazan-Zhiguli. 

The key match of the women's round was played between Ugra and Monte Carlo. The latter team prevailed; Hou Yifan won the match-deciding game against Anna Ushenina. 

NONA Batumi made a draw with Odlar Yurdu. Ladya Kazan defeated Jelica PEP – Gorarici 2.5-1.5. The Chigorin Club team won against SS Lazio Schacchi 3.5-0.5. SHSM Legacy Square from Moscow had an easy 4-0 match against ASVOE Pamhagen.  

Monte Carlo enjoys a sole lead with 8 points. Ugra and Ladya Kazan are two points behind.
