More Than Half Distance Passed at the World Youth Championships

The Russians are in contention in all six tournaments.

Six out of eleven rounds are already played at the World Youth Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk. 

In the Open 14 section, Semyon Lomasov (Russia) won all six games. Andrey Esipenko, Kirill Shubin, and Danila Pavlov are 1.5 points behind. 

In the Girls 14 section, the Chinese Zhu Jiner (China) is in the lead with 5.5 points. The Russian duo Aleksandra Maltsevskaya and Elena Zotova are half a point behind. 

In the Open 16 section, the Armenian Haik Martirosyan has the perfect score. Alexey Sorokin (Russia) is a point behind. 

In the Girls 16 section, Hagawane Aakanksha (India) leads with 5.5 points. Polina Shuvalova (Russia) has 5 points. 

In the Open 18 section, Maksim Vavulin (Russia) and Manuel Petrosyan (Armenia) are in the lead with 5 points. 

In the Girls 18 section, four players are leading the pack, including the Russian Alexandra Obolentseva.
