2016 Moscow Open Begins on January 29

The opening press-conference will take place on January 26.

RSSU international chess Cup, also known as 2016 Moscow Open, will be played in Moscow on January 29 – February 7. The venue is traditional – Russian State Social University, Pik street 4.

The press-conference dedicated to the tournament with many chess officials, municipal officials, and sponsors is scheduled for January 26 and will take place in the TASS building. 

The 2016 Moscow Open will consist of eight separate events:

Tournament A – RSSU Cup – leg of the Russian Men's Cup
Tournament B – RSSU Cup – leg of the Russian Women's Cup
Tournament C – RSSU Amateur Cup – qualification to the World Amateur championship
Tournament D – RSSU Senior Cup – qualification to the World Senior championship
Tournament E – RSSU Student Cup – qualification to the World Amateur championship
Tournament F – RSSU School Champions Cup – qualification to the World Shoolchildren championship
Tournament G – RSSU Blitz Cup
Tournament H – World junior championship in chess composition

Chess events will be accompanied by FIDE seminars for trainers, arbiters, and school chess teachers.

Guaranteed prize fund of the Moscow Open is 4,730,000 roubles.
