Moscow Veterans Lead the Match Against Chess Players From Minsk

A friendly encounter is taking place in the Embassy of Belarus in Moscow.

On June 17, a friendly match between chess veterans from Moscow and Minsk started in the Embassy of Belarus in Moscow. Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich and Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Igor Petrischenko took part in the opening ceremony.

Team composition is 8 men and 2 women. Such famous grandmasters as Yuri Balashov, Viacheslav Dydyshko, Sergey Arkhipov, Vladimir Veremeichik, Aleksander Nikitin, Evgeny Mochalov, Galina Strutinskaia and many others are taking part in the event. 

Time control: 15 minutes plus 10 seconds increment per move. The first four rounds were played on June 17. The players from Moscow are leading 18,5:17,5. The second part of the match will be played on Sunday, June 18.
