RCF is concerned with publication in a number of Turkish and other mass media of misleading information

Official Statement from the Russian Chess Federation

Moscow, 23 December 2015 – The Russian Chess Federation is concerned with publication in a number of Turkish and other mass media of misleading information about alleged activities of the President of the Russian Chess Federation. The aforementioned publications refer to such information as a statement by the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Russian Chess Federation represented by the international law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP has launched a review of the situation, in order to identify the source of dissemination of the misleading information, including verification of the correctness of translation of the relevant statement by the Turkish President.

Andrey Filatov, President of the Russian Chess Federation intends to pursue all available legal remedies to protect his rights, interests and business reputation. The RCF warns that any attempt to further disseminate this misleading information will have legal implications.
