Participants of FIDE WGP Series 2022-23 Announced

The International Chess Federation has announced the information about the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix Series 2022-23, including the lineup, dates, and host cities. The Series will feature a total of 16 players, and each one of them will participate in three out of four WGP tournaments with classical time control.

The events will take place in Nur-Sultan (17-30 September 2022), Munich (1-14 February 2023), India (March 2023), and Bydgoszcz (May 2023). 

The participants of the first leg are Aleksandra Goryachkina, Kateryna Lagno, Tan Zhongyi, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Polina Shuvalova, Alina Kashlinskaya, Zhansaya Abdumalik, Elisabeth Paehtz, Zhu Jiner, Bibisara Assaubayeva, Dinara Wagner, and Humpy Koneru. 

The two top players in the WGP Series will qualify for the FIDE Women Candidates Tournament 2023-24.
