PhosAgro to Become Sergey Karjakin’s Strategic Partner

The RCF President Andrey Filatov informs about it.

According to RCF President, FIDE Vice-President Andrey Filatov, the decision was made by CEO of PhosAgro, member of the RCF Board of Trustees Andrey Guriev, as part of Sergey Karjakin’s preparation to the Candidates Tournament, which will be held in March, 2018.

«It will be a focused support to Sergey Karjakin. The allocated funds will be used, in particular, to reinforce his coaching staff and to buy super powerful computers», says Andrey Filatov. He also underlines that PhosAgro continues being RCF General Partner and supporting other Russian grandmasters. 

«This is a great present for our fans on International Chess Day, which is celebrated on July 20», adds Andrey Filatov, thanking PhosAgro for the company’s long-term supporting RCF and financing various initiatives aimed to develop chess in Russia and to enhance prestige of the Russian chess school on the world stage.  

Andrey Guriev says: «We are pleased to become a strategic partner of Sergey Karjakin, whom we were actively supporting during the World Championship Match last year. He was playing brilliantly but was lacking a tiny bit of luck in his encounter against the Norwegian World Champion Magnus Carlsen. I hope that Russia will manage to win back the chess crown in the next cycle».
