Pskov Team Won Chess in Schools Project Tournament

The event was held in Dagomys.

For the second year in a row, the final competition of Chess in Schools project was held in Dagomys in parallel with Belaya Ladya final tournament. The tournament is realized by the Russian Chess Federation together with Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation. 6 teams from Pskov Oblast, Novosibirsk Oblast, Zabaykalsky Krai, Altai Krai, Krasnodar Krai, and Ingushetia took part in it. These teams had won the contest of the best chess education as part of the Chess in Schools project. 
 
Each team consisted of 4 players (with 1 girl) of 2008 year of birth and younger. 

Results: 1 place - Educational Centre Pskov Pedagogical College - 18 points out of 20, 2. Novosibirsk Sports School № 195 - 14, 3. Krasnodar Lyceum № 48 named after A. Suvorov - 12.

On Sunday 4, an excursion around Sochi will be organized for the children and their pedagogues.

During the tournament, a roundtable discussion for the participants of the Chess in Schools project was held. RCF Executive Director Mark Glukhovsky, Deputy Director General of the Timchenko Foundation Igor Baradachev, and ISCU President Alexander Kostiev took part in it.  The chess pedagogues shared their experience, told of their problems which arise in their everyday work, made their remarks and wishes on how to develop the learning kit, which was worked out by the RCF with the support of Timchenko Foundation.
