RCF Proposes Its Nominees For FIDE Trainers' Awards

They are A. Filatov, S. Rublevski, S. Janovsky. K. Sakaev, Y. Dokhoian, L. Belavenets and B. Postovsky


The Russian Chess Federation has proposed its nominees for FIDE Trainers' Awards, which bear the names of celebrated chess players of the past. There awards are given annually by FIDE Trainers' Commission, but they are presented not only for previous year's achievements, but also for results of a long-term coaching work. 

The nominees from the Russian Chess Federation: 

Botvinnik Mikhail (Men Trainer) - Andrey Filatov, Head coach of the Russian national men's chess team since 2014. Under his guidance, the team won bronze medals of two World Chess Olympiads (2016 and 2018), silver medals of the World Team Championship-2017, and silver medals of the European Team Championship-2017. 

Furman Symeon (Women Trainer) - Sergei Rublevsky, Head coach of the Russian national women's chess team since 2012. Under his guidance, the team won two World Chess Olympiads (2012 and 2014), World Team Championship (2017) and two European Championships (2013 and 2017). 

Euwe Max (Juniors Trainer) - Sergey Janovsky, Head coach of the Russian national junior team in 1997-2010, Head coach of national teams since 2014.

Boleslavsky Isaac (Author) - Konstantin Sakaev, author of Complete Slav (2 volumes), The Complete Manual of Positional Chess (2 volumes, co-author), and many other books.  

Petrosian Tigran (Special Achiev.) - Yury Dokhoian, coach of the 13th World Chess Champion Garry Kasparov in 1997-2005, Head coach of the Russian national women's chess team in 2008-2011, Head coach of the Russian national men's chess team in 2012-2013. Under his guidance, the women's national team won the World Chess Olympiad-2010 and two European Team Championships (2009 and 2011). 

Razuvaev Yuri (Education Trainers) - Liudmila Belavenets, who conducted 26 seminars for the Russian coaches in 1992-2018. 

Boris Postovsky, Liudmila Belavenets, and Yury Dokhoian are also nominated to become members of the Trainers' Hall of Fame.
