RIP Vladimir Malaniuk (1957-2017)

The grandmaster died at the age of 59.

On July 2, a Ukrainian grandmaster Vladimir Malaniuk (1957-2017) died before time. On 21 July, he would turn 60.  

In the 1980s, Vladimir Malaniuk won the Ukranian Championships three times. Several times he took part in the Soviet Championships. In team chess, he played for Ukraine in the Moscow 1994, Yerevan 1996 and Elista 1998 Chess Olympiads, winning team silver and bronze medals in '96 and '98, respectively.

Winner and prize-winner of many international tournaments.
