Roman Ovetchkin and Alexandr Predke Lead Polugaevsky Memorial

Round 4 games are played in Samara.

Samara is hosting the 6th leg of the Russian Cup 2017 - Lev Polugaevsky Memorial. The tournament started on July 8 in the Samara Chess Club which is also named after the outstanding grandmaster Lev Polugaevsky. 107 chess players from 4 countries (25 regions of Russia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan), including 9 grandmasters, 15 international masters, and 23 FIDE masters, are taking part in the event. The prize fund is 750,000 RUR, the winner will receive 150,000 RUR. 

The starting list is headed by Andrey Stukopin from Rostov-on-Don, who arrived in Samara from the USA where he is studying at the university. After round 4, the leaders are Roman Ovetchkin (Tyumen) and Alexandr Predke (Tolyatti), who have scored 4 points.
