Russia finishes 4th at the World Teams
China won the championship by a large margin.
The World Team Championship ended in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia. In the final round Russia won a tense match again Israel (Evgeny Tomashevsky won his game, and three other games were drawn). Other results: Hungary-Ukraine 2-2, China-India 3-1, Armenia-Egypt 3.5-0.5, USA-Cuba 3-1.
Final standings:
1. China – 15 (23 board points), 2. Ukraine – 12 (21), 3. Armenia – 11 (19), 4. Russia – 10 (21.5), 5. USA – 10 (19.5), 6. Hungary – 9 (17), 7. Israel – 8 (18.5), 8. Cuba – 7 (16.5), 9. India – 7 (16), 10. Egypt – 1 (9).
