Russia-China Match Ends in Moscow

The home team won 25.5-24.5.

On Wednesday, June 15, the 5th round of Russia-China friendly match was played in the Central Chess House in Moscow. 

All games in men's part ended in draws: Wang Yue-Andreikin, Zhou Jianchao-Nepomniachtchi, Jakovenko-Lu Shanglei, Wen Yang-Matlakov, Dubov-Yu Yangui. Both the round and the match were drawn – 12.5-12.5.

In the women's match, Gunina lost to Shen Yang, Tan Zhongyi defeated Bodnaruk, and three other games were drawn: Lagno-Lei Tintsze, Guo Qi-Goryachkina, and Pogonina-Ding Yixin. The round ended with the score 3.5-1.5 in China's favor, however, Russian women's team won the match 13-12, this giving Russia the overall match victory with the narrowest margin – 25.5-24.5.

The businessman Oleg Skvortsov offered a special best game prize. Ian Nepomniachtchi received the trophy during the closing ceremony for his victory against Lu Shanglei.
