Russia - China Match Opens in Moscow
Drawing of lots was held.
A traditional Russia - China match was officially opened in the Central Chess Club in Moscow on November 25.
Chief Arbiter IA Boris Postovsky reminded the players of the tournament rules and conducted the drawing of lots on the technical meeting.
Round 1 pairings:
Men:
Lu Shanglei - V. Fedoseev, Bai Jinshi - A. Sarana, Xu Xiangyu - M. Chigaev, A. Esipenko - Xu Yinglun, A. Predke - Wen Yang.
Women:
M. Potapova - Ning Kaiyu, P. Shuvalova - Zhai Mo, L. Garifullina - Ding Yixin, Zhu Jiner - D. Dordzhieva, Huang Qian - A. Bivol.
The technical meeting was followed by the opening ceremony, during which the CFR Executive Director Mark Glukhovsky greeted the participants and wished them good luck.
The match days: November 26-30. All games will begin at 3 p.m. (Moscow time).
