Russia Finishes Second At The Junior Olympiad
Iran took first place.
The Junior Chess Olympiad ended in Poprad, Slovakia. In the 9th round Russian national team defeated Belarus, 2.5 to 1.5, and took second place with 15 match points out of 18. Iran won the gold with 17 points, Armenia took the bronze with 14 points.
Russian team: Saveliy Golubov, Andrey Esipenko, Sergey Lobanov, Aleksey Sarana, Aleksandra Obolentseva, coach Mikhail Kobalia.
