Russian Championship Higher League: First Leaders Appear

The second round of the Russian Championship Higher League, which determined first leaders, was played in Yaroslavl. Denis Khismatullin, Sergey Volkov, and Grigoriy Oparin have scored 2 points in the open event. The third round will see the games Khismatullin - Oparin and Volkov - Inarkiev, who is half a point behind the leaders.
Evgenija Ovod, Oksana Gritsayeva, Elena Tomilova, Aleksandra Maltsevksya, Margarita Potapova, and Dina Belenkaya have got 2 points in the women's tournament. Belenkaya - Ovod, Gritsayeva - Potapova, and Matlsevskaya - Tomilova will play in round 3.
