Russian Men Win Against Azerbaijan
Our women's team defeated Vietnam.
The 9th round of the Olympiad brought our men's team a victory over Azerbaijan – wins by Kramnik and Grischuk, draws by Karjakin and Tomashevsky.
Other key matches ended as follows: Ukraine-India 2.5-1.5, USA-Norway 3-1, Iran-England 2-2.
USA and Ukraine are still in the lead with 16 points, Russia has 15 points and will play against India in the penultimate round.
Russian women's team defeated Vietnam – a victory by Gunina and three draws by Kosteniuk, Goryachkina, and Pogonina.
Other top teams' results: USA-China 1.5-2.5, Israel-Poland 0.5-3.5, Ukraine-Azerbaijan 3.5-0.5.
China leads with 16 points, Poland is second with 15 points. Russia, Ukraine, India, and USA have 14 points.
In the 10th round Russia faces Georgia.
